UK DIGITAL IMMIGRATION SYSTEM: ESSENTIAL INSIGHTS

An eVisa is a digital record of:
• your identity and immigration status
• what you can do in the UK

Why we are contacting you?
if you were recently granted a visa to travel to the UK. This massage provides further instruction that you should follow.

If you have been granted permission to travel to Jersey, Guernsey, the Isle of Man, Alderney, Gibraltar, a British Overseas Territory or a Commonwealth country, this communication is not applicable to you. No action is required in relation to this email.

  1. Collect your visa vignette
The Visa Application Centre (VAC) will contact you when your visa vignette is ready for collection.
You must wait until the VAC contacts you and follow their instructions.

Do not travel to the UK until you have collected your vignette, even if you used the ‘Keep My Passport While Applying’ service.

  1. Create a UKVI account
Even though you have a visa vignette, you can access your eVisa and start using it to prove your immigration status online after you have collected your vignette.
You need a UKVI account to access your eVisa. You should only create an account after you have collected your vignette.
Each family member joining you in the UK must have their own UKVI account to access their eVisa.
Check if you already have an account
If you have lived, worked, or studied in the UK before, you may already have a UKVI account.
Try to sign in to view and prove your immigration status at https://www.gov.uk/evisa/view-evisa-get-share-code-prove-immigration-status.

  1. Check your eVisa
When you get your eVisa, check your eVisa details carefully.
If anything is wrong, report it at; https://www.gov.uk/evisa/report-error-evisa.
  2. If your personal details or travel document change before you travel, update your UKVI account at https://www.gov.uk/evisa/update-ukvi-account.
